Show Review: TeZATalks Halloween Show

TeZATalks headlining debut at Wild Buffalo for Halloween

Show Review from Joe Raubvogel

Wild Buffalo put together a fantastic and lively show that worked as a perfect kick-off to Halloweekend. From the pop-rock of Actress, to the hardcore hip-hop of TeZATalks, the evening touched many bases and offered a variety of unpredictable sounds.

My experience began with the band Actress, which offered a lot of excitement and throughout their set. Their set began with a catchy, pop-rock song with fantastic energy and vocals, keeping me thoroughly engaged. This engagement lasted as they presented their range from harder rock sounds to slower jams, and even among their slower songs, they kept things interesting with their exciting jams and climactic outros.

Up next was the Black Noise Takeover, which I was pretty hyped to see, as they always have great energy and charisma together. My expectations were certainly met, as Blksknn, Ca$h Mclane, Chrvns, Estimate, and Og Neeks all came onstage wearing their Halloween costumes to perform their unique and engaging styles of hip-hop.

TeZATalks, the dynamic artist I have had the pleasure of seeing two previous times opening for CupCakKe and at Lawn Fest, once again delivered an electrifying performance. Her seamless blend of hardcore hip-hop with metal-infused sounds paired with her very raw and down-to-earth energy had always effortlessly captivated me, and with this performance, she was able to deliver a longer set in which she played older songs that showcased her artistic evolution. Seeing her set begin with alt-rnb backed by live violin really struck me by surprise and allowed me to see a new side to not only her music but her as a person. Despite the relatively modest turn out, Teza’s endearing personality and genuine connection with her audience shone through. She would frequently speak in between songs and express her gratitude for her fans and her commitment to creating an inclusive and affirming environment for all, especially within the LGBTQ+ community. Teza saved her more recent and hardcore material for last, as she hyped up the crowd with her infectious energy, performing her metal-infused rap backed with live guitar.

The performances from TeZATalks, Black Noise Records, and Actress all came together to put on a fantastic show and radiate the perfect energy to kick-off a great Halloweekend.
