Show Review: Chrvns and Ebony at Wink Wink

Review written by Autumn Brooks

The show at Wink Wink started with Ebony on stage and hazy, atmospheric vibes. The moment she sung her first note, the crowd was enthralled. Her vocals, soulful and grungy, swam between genres and with each new song you never knew what to expect. She told familiar stories with her lyrics and captivated the audience with her movements and passion for what she was conveying. Her performance was a testament to the power of music and how one artist can be multi genre while still being cohesive.

Following Ebony’s set, CHRVNS started his performance. From the get-go it was all high energy and positive vibes. His music makes you feel like you belong and his lyrics are thoughtfully written. CHRVNS masters the art of utilizing a crowd and his peers in the best way. Through out his set, he would have light-hearted and intimate moments with the crowd. Overall, CHRVNS performance was a unique experience that I hope to have again.

Honorable mentions to Roland Olayvar and Devin Luna. Roland’s guitar skills and vocals were the extra spice to CHRVNS’ set. He performed a song solo that (literally) brought me to tears. His voice is sweet and comforting and the lyrics were tender and soft. Devin Luna also has the silkiest baritone voice you’ll ever hear.

Overall, this show was full of soul, positivity, and community. The crowd was focused on each song and the artist. 10/10
